Who is Alex Freeman? Tell me about yourself.

Hi, I’m Alex Freeman. I am a singer, songwriter, model, actress, entrepreneur, model, and influencer. I have been singing, songwriting, and performing since I was 5 years old. I have two songs released called “Paper Mask” and another called "Oh baby.”

Do you have any hobbies outside of your career? Or when you are not on stage, what is a typical day like for you?

Well… I don’t know if this is considered a hobby, but I love going live on TikTok as often as possible! I think its super fun being able to interact with new people, make friends and be able to talk about pretty much anything and have people listen in it’s really exciting!!

A typical day in the life with Alex Freeman revolves around songwriting, playing instruments, posting on Instagram, going live on TikTok, singing/practicing for future performances, and at the end of the day FaceTime in at least one of my friends!

What was your most memorable performance and why?

My most memorable performance is quite recent; I just did a performance in front of 80,000 people singing the national anthem and it was so exciting. I do wish I was able to sing one of my actual songs… but being able to perform in front of that many people is so exciting, and I absolutely loved it! Can’t wait to do it again!!!

Who are your biggest influences?

Biggest musical is definitely Christina Aguilera. I think she’s one of the most talented singers of all time, and also a fantastic performer especially when she was younger. I look up to her for her vocal ability, music creation, and learning how to put on a fantastic show.

Do you miss being with your friends while you shoot your videos etc...?

Honestly everybody on my set, when it comes to a music video whether I have met them before or not… I consider a friend by the end of the day.

It takes a lot to work together as a team and be able to collaborate and put yourself out there to be on camera and do what you love. I have invited quite a few of my friends who are not in the entertainment industry to be in my music videos and a few of them are!

Tell us about the making of your new single "Oh Baby" with the Medusa-inspired music video. Sounds like it was a fun video shoot!

It was a very fun shoot! I was super super excited to film this video because I wanted to do something so incredibly different from the theme of the song. It makes you question like “what about this song made you decide to do a medusa video.”

I am a creator visually and auditory. This is what I love when starting a music project, creating the music story and creating a different visual component. I feel it really helps me express my creative nature. My stylist and I did everything ourselves - hair, makeup, wardrobe, set creation. It is so fun and such a creative expression of who I am at that moment in time. I just love it! I want to direct my next music video myself!

You wrote & performed an original song for the National Association of Suicide Prevention. What motivated you to write this?

I wanted to be involved with the association for suicide prevention because, I myself had lost somebody who was so close to me to suicide, and it shattered me.

I want to people to know that they’re not on alone, and that there are people out there who can help you through any tough spot. I have experienced bullying so much in my life, and at the time I thought I was the only one experiencing it. Now when I speak at schools, I have all the kids who have had someone bully them raise their hand, and you know what? Almost every kid in the room raises their hand. It goes to show them that there’s a lot of people who have gone through the same experience. If we can come together and speak about it, we can make a difference. Whether it’s having suicidal thoughts, depression, needing somebody to be there for them or on the other side of the spectrum. In regard to losing somebody to suicide.

There’s always somebody to help and that is there for you and that loves you matter what. So, I wrote a song called “Somebody” about it. The song currently is not released because, I feel it’s not the right time in my career to release it yet. It’s a song really really close to my heart but I hope other people will love when I can release it.

These topics can be very emotional. How to control your emotions while performing?

(I think this is a great question💕- Alex)

To be completely honest, it’s really hard. Me being a perfectionist as an artist and also trying to deal with memories in the concept behind the song tends to make it really hard for me.

It takes a lot to even listen to the song sometimes not even to get into singing yet. I just wanna make sure that if they heard the song, they’d be proud of me. That they would love it and that all is hoping for approval that the person the song is about would have loved it- if they could hear it. ❤️. Plus, I think it’s ok if you get emotional when you hear it, I do, my whole family does. If the listener feels something when they hear the song, then I’ve done my job! :)

Your work is empowering, what message would you want to give to your fans?

Don’t let anybody stop you from doing what you love. I believe in you no matter what. You can do anything you put your mind to.

How does it feel to achieve success at such a young age?

Although, I have done so many great things I feel that the point that I am at in my career I don’t even consider success yet. I have so many more goals to achieve boundaries to break and records to demolish- before I will ever consider myself a successful and I think that is what keeps me striving.

How would you want to impact the world when you grow up?

I feel that anybody can impact the world whether they are child, adult, or the oldest person on the planet. The way that I would want to impact the world, is by helping people through music. Music is the number one way to change the mood and energy in a room. If I can do that, I can help anyone who will listen.
