Ingredients
1 pack of center cut or pork steaks
2 tablespoons flour plus enough to lightly dredge pork chops
5 tablespoons butter or cooking oil
1 teaspoons seasoning salt of choice (few dashes more for gravy)
1 tablespoon garlic powder (few dashes more for gravy)
1 tablespoon onion powder (few dashes more for gravy)
1 teaspoons black pepper (few dashes more for gravy)
1/2 medium onion (sliced or chopped)
1- 1 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
Let’s Cook
Season pork chops on both sides with spice amounts listed and season the flour for dredging with the same spices
Heat skillet on medium heat add 2 tablespoons of butter or cooking oil
Lightly coat (dredge) each pork chop and add to skillet once oil is hot brown on each side about 4-6 minutes remove chops and set aside (may have to cook chops in batches to get a good crisp and brown on them
In the same skillet add 2 tablespoons of butter and onion cook until soften
Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of flour stir and cook for 5-7 minutes
Whisk in 1 cup of chicken or beef broth and season to taste
Return chops to skillet making sure every chop is covered with gravy cover and reduce heat to low simmer for 12-15 minutes stirring occasionally or until chops are tender.
Serve over warm rice or buttery mash potatoes
